Encompassing over 43,000 square feet of space, the two-story hospital will provide 24/7 emergency care, as well as diagnostic imaging, surgery, inpatient pharmacy and other necessary healthcare services to the Doral community. Perfectly situated just off the Palmetto 826 highway at 9500 NW 58 Street, Baptist Health Hospital is the latest addition to the Baptist Health system in Miami-Dade County.
Baptist Hospital
Baptist Hospital is our flagship facility and one of America’s most preferred medical centers. The hospital offers a full range of medical and technological services on its sprawling campus, which has expanded over the years to meet the needs of the community. Baptist Hospital recently received approval from the Agency for Healthcare Administration to operate an adult inpatient bone marrow transplant program to support Miami Cancer Institute, which is located on the Baptist Hospital main campus, its service lines and treatment options.
Top priorities include the renovation of the surgical suites to accommodate new technology and increased complexity of surgical cases. At the same time, renovations will be made to patient rooms, as well as common areas, such as the lobby and waiting rooms, to be more functional and suitable for our patients and their families. Environment plays a significant role in one’s healing process, so we have established a dedicated focus to improve our facilities to better each patient’s experience at Baptist Hospital.

Baptist Children’s Hospital
For more than two decades, Baptist Children’s Hospital has provided outstanding care to patients and families. Today, more than 200 pediatricians and pediatric specialists provide care in every field, including a Pediatric Emergency Department, which is now recognized as the Marta and Carlos J. Arboleya Jr. Children’s Emergency Center.
Despite the current high-quality services already provided in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, modern equipment renovations are needed to meet today’s standards. Philanthropy will help bridge the gap as we continue to reach new heights of excellence. Excellent care is not enough. We set the bar at extraordinary care.
The modernization and expansion of Baptist Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s footprint has an estimated cost of more than $15 million. While increasing the size of single-family rooms, the reconfiguration will allow family members to more comfortably remain at the bedside so that they may exercise greater control over the environment of their newborn. Evidence shows that a single-family room environment improves the clinical patient experience, enhances the well-being of the babies, and improves clinical outcomes. The new layout will also allow for state-of-the-art equipment, clinical administration and provider spaces.
Bethesda Hospital
Bethesda Hospital, a not-for-profit entity that is part of Baptist Health South Florida, is dedicated to providing high-quality, cost-effective, compassionate healthcare services to all, including, as permitted by our resources, charity care to those in need.
Bethesda Hospital also impacts the community through its outreach programs and partners with local organizations to provide a wide variety of health and wellness educational programs for Palm Beach County residents.
Bethesda Hospital East
Founded in 1959, 401-bed Bethesda Hospital East offers a full array of healthcare services, including Bethesda Heart Hospital for the most comprehensive level of cardiovascular services; general, vascular and endovascular surgery; maternity, neonatal and pediatric intensive care; women’s health services; orthopedics; and comprehensive cancer care.
At Bethesda Hospital East, the Emergency Department is divided into separate sections, with 43 private treatment rooms used to deliver specialized care, including cardiac emergencies, pediatric emergencies and an “express care” area for less serious illnesses and injuries. Our team of Emergency-trained physicians, Pediatric Emergency physicians, physician specialists and nurses provide world-class, compassionate care when you need it most.
For so many in Boynton Beach and the surrounding areas, the Emergency Department is the hospital’s front door. Resources such as private rooms, smart technology and optimized patient care are essential for our patients’ well-being. The hospital is undertaking a critical modernization project, and these improvements will enable the hospital to better accommodate patients who rely on us to treat life-threatening emergencies. Bethesda Hospital West
Bethesda Hospital West opened in 2013. The 80-bed, all private room, state-of-the-art hospital provides general medical, surgical and intensive care services; 24-hour adult and pediatric emergency care; diagnostic imaging; rehabilitation; and laboratory and inpatient pharmacy services.
Doctors Hospital
Doctors Hospital, located in the heart of historic Coral Gables, has provided high-quality medical care since 1949. The 281-bed, acute care facility, is recognized for its services in orthopedics, sports medicine, general surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, geriatrics, intensive care and its modern Emergency Department.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is one of the most critically functioning operational environments in a hospital. Comprised of highly skilled doctors, nurses and specialists, ICU teams are multi-disciplinary and are ready to offer critical care for patients. As the oldest ICU within Baptist Health, the renovation is essential to transform the ICU. The new ICU will be relocating to the 2 West Wing of Doctors Hospital, allowing for a larger footprint, and will include the most technically advanced equipment. Each room will have 24-hour off-site electronic monitoring through our EICU LifeGuard program.
A new ICU is instrumental to ensure that we can continue to offer the best care possible for individuals requiring ICU care. Your donation will ensure our physicians and staff will have the tools they need to provide the highest quality care to our most critically ill patients.
Fishermen’s Community Hospital
Fishermen’s Community Hospital, initially opened in 1962,joined the Baptist Health family in July 2017 as an all-purpose, critical access hospital offering a 24/7 emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, lab testing and physical and occupational therapy. It is the only hospital on the 80-mile stretch from Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, also a Baptist Health hospital.
In September 2017, just a few months after joining Baptist Health, the hospital building was devastated by Hurricane Irma. A field hospital was quickly set up, which would be replaced by a temporary modular facility, so that residents of the Middle Keys could continue to have access to emergency and hospital care.
The resilience of the hospital’s staff was an inspiration to the Marathon community, who rallied behind the hospital and raised more than $16 million in donations toward the $43.7 cost to build a new facility. The new hospital opened its doors in July 2021, built to withstand the winds of a Category 5 hurricane. It is the first new Critical Access Hospital to be built in South Florida in more than 20 years, and includes an Emergency Department with onsite helipad, inpatient and intensive care units, observation rooms, outpatient laboratory and imaging services and telestroke services.
But the community’s generosity did not end there. Donors in the Middle Keys united in an effort to support the construction of a Medical Arts Building on the Fishermen’s Community Hospital campus, raising $1.5 million towards the building’s construction. In addition, the Walsh family donated $5 million, and were recognized with the naming of the Walsh Family Medial Arts Building. The facility, which opened in April 2024, is home to primary care physicians’ offices; specialty services like orthopedics, gastroenterology and general surgery; oncology infusion; and physical therapy and rehabilitation services.

Homestead Hospital
With specialized services and compassionate care, Homestead Hospital is a beautiful hospital nestled in a small, growing community. It is also home to Baptist Health Rehabilitation, a 23-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit dedicated to providing individualized programs for the care of adult and pediatric patients, ages 4 to 18, who are facing an acute or disabling injury or illness. All rooms are private and include a touch-screen interactive virtual reality platform, adaptive aids that promote functional independence, body-weight support mobility training, pet therapy and access to a meditation garden.
Serving the largest geographical area of any hospital in Miami-Dade, Homestead Hospital is the only hospital located in the lower 18-mile radius of the county. The 142-bed hospital handles 10,000 admissions and 55,000 emergency visits a year. It offers medical-surgical units, an intensive care unit with eICU LifeGuard, surgical services and sophisticated outpatient diagnostic testing that includes digital mammography, MRI and CT scanners. The 24-hour Emergency Center has 44 private treatment rooms, including a trauma room and a Children’s Emergency Room. More than 1,200 babies are born each year in the hospital’s birthing suites.
Hospital emergency departments play a growing role in the U.S. healthcare system, accounting for a rising proportion of hospital admissions and serving increasingly as an advanced diagnostic center for primary care physicians. Raising funds to support Homestead Hospital’s emergency department improvements is essential. These funds will go toward the purchase of new equipment and stretchers. In addition, it will support the moving and reconstruction of the current observation waiting area to build a larger sub-waiting area, allowing our patients to be more comfortable while awaiting consultation.

Mariners Hospital
Mariners Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital, is the only hospital serving the Upper Florida Keys, a geographic area south of Miami that stretches for 37 miles across islands and water. The not-for-profit hospital has been a community resource since 1962, when it opened as a nine-bed facility. Today, the hospital offers a robust array of services including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging tests, physical therapy, speech therapy and pulmonary rehabilitation. Mariners is the only hospital in the Florida Keys to offer medical oncology services and has the only hospital-based hyperbaric chamber in the Keys.
There’s never a good time to need emergency care, but if you do, it’s reassuring to know the Emergency Center at Mariners Hospital is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The hospital is currently fundraising for the crucial expansion its emergency center. The two-year project will help the hospital maximize efficiency, meet growing patient demand and reduce wait times for our patients. Among the goals of the project is to create an area in the center to more quickly treat and release patients with minor illnesses and injuries, allowing them to get home faster. Costs for such an expansion are considerable, and as a not-for-profit organization, philanthropic support is vital for our success and goals. We are almost at our goal, but we still need your help.
South Miami Hospital
South Miami Hospital is home to Baptist Health’s Center for Robotic Surgery, Center for Women & Infants, Lung Health Program and a premier weight-loss surgery program, as well as a modern Emergency Center. The hospital is known for innovative services in maternity and neonatal care and was the first in Florida to earn the joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for both Prematurity and Pre-term Labor.
At Baptist Health — and across the nation — nurses represent the largest segment of the healthcare workforce. As healthcare continues to undergo major change, nurses’ contributions are more critical than ever. We invest significantly in our nursing professionals, which leads to exceptional nursing care and positively affects patient safety, continuous quality improvement and better outcomes for our patients.
The Center for Excellence in Nursing at South Miami Hospital supports nurses by providing continuing education opportunities to all nursing disciplines, allowing bedside nurses to attend conferences and bring back innovative best practices that can be implemented throughout the hospital and provide high quality care for patients. The creation of a Wound Boot Camp, for example, stemmed from allowing our nurse specialists to attend a five-day seminar, presenting best practices relating to preventing pressure injuries. The information brought back from this symposium allowed South Miami Hospital to implement national standards of best practice as it relates to decreasing and eliminating hospital-acquired pressure injuries. This year we will be completing our second annual Boot Camp and will have bedside staff teaching their fellow nurses.

West Kendall Baptist Hospital
West Kendall Baptist Hospital supports a vision of West Kendall as a convenient central hub where residents can live, work and play. Through its Healthy West Kendall initiative, the hospital and its partners encourage the area’s nearly 400,000 residents to achieve the goal of becoming the Healthiest Community in Florida. Visitors to the Healthy Hub — a health-screening kiosk located in the main lobby — receive free health screenings, health risk assessments, personalized patient education, referrals for follow-up primary care and information about free community resources for healthy living. With West Kendall Baptist Hospital leading the efforts, West Kendall was selected as one of five communities in the U.S. to participate in Communities of Excellence 2026 – a learning collaborative that uses the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework to enhance overall community performance.
The hospital has launched a Food Pharmacy pilot program, which focuses on identifying patients who suffer from malnutrition or food insecurity. Patients are provided with a food prescription following their discharge, and are supplied with a few healthy, balanced meals to help get them on track to a more nourishing life. The goal is to improve patient outcomes and educate these individuals about how food can serve as medicine to one’s body and can prevent readmissions.
Swim lessons are one of the best ways to prevent drowning in children. Through swim classes, children not only learn basic survival skills, but also learn proper swimming techniques so that their strokes are effective, helping to conserve energy and prevent exhaustion. Through a partnership with Little Swimmers, West Kendall Baptist Hospital hosts an annual swim safety day and also works with local public schools in West Kendall to educate them on the importance of swim safety. Each year, the goal is to increase funding so that more lessons can be offered in the community for families who otherwise are unable to afford them.
